The Department of Water Resources is driving forward a project to cover the costs of preparing reports. Thailand's National Report, in accordance with its obligations under the Convention on Wetlands, for the year 2026, included a field visit to gather opinions at the Laem Son-Kraburi Estuary-Kapoe Canal Wetland National Park, Ranong Province.

         On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, the Department of Water Resources held its 5th Focus Group meeting to drive forward the project on the expenses for preparing Thailand's National Report under the Convention on Wetlands in 2026. The meeting aimed to clarify operational guidelines, build understanding, and gather information from relevant agencies in the Laem Son-Kraburi Estuary-Kapoe Canal wetland area of Ranong Province. Ms. Chinanat Likkachai, Director of the Environmental Division, representing the Ranong Provincial Office of Natural Resources and Environment, chaired the meeting. Also present were Ms. Karima Wongsin, Senior Policy and Planning Analyst, representing the Water Resources Conservation Division, Department of Water Resources, and other staff members. The meeting took place at the Ranong District Office meeting room in Ranong Province and was also conducted via ZOOM.
